Fifth Sunday in Ordinary Time
Bulletin for Sacred Heart of Jesus, Our Lady of Fatima, & St. Anne
Christ has no body but yours,
No hands, no feet on earth but yours,
Yours are the eyes with which he looks
Compassion on this world,
Yours are the feet with which he walks to do good,
Yours are the hands, with which he blesses all the world.
Yours are the hands, yours are the feet,
Yours are the eyes, you are his body.
Christ has no body now but yours,
No hands, no feet on earth but yours,
Yours are the eyes with which he looks
compassion on this world.
Christ has no body now on earth but yours.
Amen.

God Bless, our Confirmandi!
Last Sunday, it was a profound joy to witness Archbishop Etienne confirm 52 of our young people at Sacred Heart. Seeing their faith publicly professed stirred memories of my own Confirmation 50 years ago at Our Lady of Fatima, when I felt deep gratitude but had not yet made the faith fully my own. It wasn’t until my junior year of high school that I personally encountered Jesus Christ and embraced Him as my Lord and Savior. Until then, like so many, I believed because my parents believed. I pray our newly Confirmed soon experience that same living encounter with Jesus. We pray that their faith becomes deeply personal with Him and blossoms into the fullness our wonderful Catholic faith.
In Christ,
Fr. Freitag

Listening Session: What Opportunities and Challenges Exist for Us?
Date: Saturday, February 28
Time: 9:30am for coffee, donuts, and community;
10 to 11:30am for the session.
Location: Our Lady of Fatima Parish Center
From the Parish Family Advisory Council (PFAC): The goal of this session is to bring people of all three parishes together, therefore there is ONLY ONE listening session on this topic. We hope to have someone from each parish at every table. Adults only, please. An RSVP through this link is appreciated.
In preparation for the meeting, please review the demographics portion of the Annual Report and reflect on these questions:
-
What challenges do you see that exist in the wider community? An example could be having a large homeless or undocumented immigrant population with specific needs.
-
What challenges do you see that exist in the parish family? An example could be having a large number of families with teenagers but not being able to hire a youth minister.
-
Having heard information from the community demographics report, what opportunities do you see (in our parish family and in the wider community) to more effectively serve and accompany others? Is there anybody that we can do a better job of reaching?
Soup Suppers and Stations of the Cross
Come join us for Lenten fellowship and prayer on Friday evenings. Soup is shared at 6 pm, followed by the Stations of the Cross at 7 pm. Sign-ups to come.

Ministry News
Grief Support Ministry
St. Anne Parish is entering its third year of providing grief support services to the families of our parish. The members of the ministry provide spiritual and emotional support to individuals and families experiencing the loss of a loved one.
We are a group of ten volunteers who have received training on how to provide comfort and resources to our parishioners who are navigating their individual healing journey. We meet on a monthly basis to share resources and to encourage and support one another in our ministry. Our model includes assigning a volunteer to work with the bereaved parishioner, offering support for a period of one year. Often these relationships develop into lasting friendships.
If you are a St. Anne parishioner and are interested in joining our group or you are a parishioner of Our Lady of Fatima or Sacred Heart and are interested in establishing a Grief Support Ministry, please contact either Marty Hillary at (919)606-6999 or Jane Fleming at (206)930-0460. We will be happy to provide you with training and assistance to get started.
St. Vincent de Paul Society Update
A recent Seattle Times article described the increase in Seattle and King County evictions in 2025. Our Conference’s primary goal is “to keep those currently housed, housed.” With your continued generosity, we help our neighbors on the Hill remain housed. During January, we helped 32 neighbors: 14 with rent, 4 with utilities, and 12 with food. Our neighbors not only received help from us but most received referrals to other agencies to help meet their need. One neighbor received our help with rent that prevented an eviction as well as access to other assistance. They told us: “Sincerest wholehearted infinite gratitude to you for taking the time to not only think of me but care enough to share this resource with me.” If you are interested in learning more about our St Vincent de Paul group, please contact the parish office.
Pyx Return and Homebound Ministry
If you have been loaned a pyx (a small gold container in which the Consecrated Host is placed), please kindly return it to the Church or Parish Office. We are missing many pyxes.
If someone you know is sick or homebound and they would like to receive Communion or a visit, we are happy to arrange it. Fr. Kitema and our homebound ministers are ready to serve. Please contact the parish office.
St. Martin Meal Program
The next dates for meal drop-offs are February 10th and 24th, from 4:30 to 5:00 pm in the Our Lady of Fatima parking lot. If you are interested in helping with this ministry, please stop by in February to see what it is all about.
