Stewardship

Stewardship

Stewardship is so much more than tithing, it’s a way of life.

Becoming more and more aware that everything is gift and blessing—that all that we are and have is a gift from God.  Scripture reminds us that we come into the world with nothing and we leave the world with nothing (Job 1). A stewardship way of life involves recognizing God as the sole creator and owner of all that we are and have, and accepting the fact that we are merely the stewards or managers of God’s gifts and blessings. Our job or mission is to manage and use wisely and responsibly all that God has placed in our care.

As we grow into a stewardship way of life, we gradually develop a lifestyle marked by generosity. A life of generosity is a clear sign that we do in fact believe and accept the biblical truth that God owns it all. Conversely, when we hoard our gifts and talents, we assign ownership of our good fortune to ourselves and not to God, doing with them as we please.

As we seek to develop a stewardship way of life, we are aware that one day we will have to account for our stewardship here on earth. How well did we use God’s gifts to bless the lives of others?

“The person who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and the person who sows generously will also reap generously for God loves a cheerful giver!” – Corinthians 9:6-7

Alpha

Alpha

Our parish hosts Alpha every fall and spring for 10 or 11 weeks at a time. It is our primary means of introducing people to faith and community at St. Anne’s. We provide a hospitable environment where dinner is offered every week. Guests discuss topics of faith in a non-judgmental environment and have lasting and transformative experiences. Please help to offset the costs necessary to create a warm environment that helps make Alpha such a success.

Evangelization

Evangelization

The Church exists for sharing the Good News of the Gospel – in other words, we exist to evangelize and we always in need of the Gospel. The evangelization fund helps us be creative and effective in spreading God’s message of love to everyone within our parish. This includes parish events, guest speakers, resources for small group formation, prayer resources for our community and so much more.

Catholic Community Services

Help support Catholic Community Services and Catholic Housing Services of Western Washington.

Rooted in Catholic Social Teaching and the Gospel imperative, Catholic Community Services (CCS) and Catholic Housing Services (CHS) are outreaches of the Catholic Church in Western Washington, under the leadership of the Archbishop of Seattle and the Boards of Trustees. CCS and CHS answer the Gospel call to loving and compassionate service with particular concern for the sanctity of human life from conception to natural death and the dignity of the human person. Employees and volunteers come from many faith traditions to serve and support poor and vulnerable people through the provision of quality, integrated services and housing. CCS and CHS focus is on those individuals, children, families, and communities struggling with poverty and the effects of intolerance and racism. We actively join with others to work for justice.
