The Lord has risen! Alleluia, alleluia!

Dear Parish Family and Friends,

This Happy Easter morning, the light of Christ’s Resurrection dawns upon us, illuminating our hearts and minds. We celebrate not just a past event, but a living reality: the Resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, the cornerstone of our faith and the source of our hope.

The Foundation of Hope

The Resurrection transforms everything. It confirms Jesus’ teachings, validates His sacrifice, and demonstrates His victory over sin and death. As St. Paul says, “If Christ has not been raised, our faith is futile” (1 Cor 1:17). But Christ has been raised, offering us a hope that transcends earthly trials and extends into eternity.

Pope Francis on Hope

Pope Francis reminds us of the essence of Christian hope: “Hope is not optimism, it is not a pink cloud, it is not a naive look at things, but it is to believe that Jesus sowed love and fidelity in our lives forever. And this hope is what sustains us.” (Francis, General Audience, December 6, 2017)

Renewing our Faith with Hope

In this Jubilee Year of Hope, we are called to renew our faith and deepen our understanding of the Resurrection, allowing its power to transform our lives. This is a time to reflect on how we can better embody Christ’s hope through charity, forgiveness, and reconciliation. Let us open our hearts to God’s grace, allowing it to purify us and make us true witnesses to the Resurrection.

A Call to Share the Light of Hope

As we celebrate Easter during this Jubilee Year, let us embrace the call to share Christ’s light with others, being instruments of hope in our families, workplaces, and neighborhoods. Let us offer encouragement, a helping hand, or a listening ear, and boldly proclaim the Gospel of Jesus, inviting others to experience the transformative power of the Resurrection.

Embracing New Life with Hope

May the hope of the Resurrection fill your hearts with joy and peace this Easter season and throughout the Jubilee Year. Let us embrace the promise of new life that Christ offers, transforming us into witnesses of His love and mercy.

Faithfully yours,

Fr. Freitag
