PRAY FOR OUR HOLY FATHER

Dear Faithful,

Let us come together in prayer for our Holy Father, Pope Francis. Let us trust in the wisdom of the divine plan. May our prayers bring comfort, peace, and support to him and to all who care for him. In unity and faith, we pray:

Our Father, Who art in Heaven, hallowed be Thy name; Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in Heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil.

Amen.

Parish Life

Dear Parish Family,

As we approach the sacred season of Lent, beginning on Ash Wednesday, March 5th, I invite each of you to embark on a profound spiritual journey. Lent is a time of penance, reflection, and renewal—a period for us to prepare our hearts, minds, and souls to celebrate the joyous resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ come Easter.

The Lenten practices of prayer, fasting, and almsgiving are deeply rooted in our faith. Through prayer, we strengthen our relationship with God as sons and daughters seeking guidance and grace.

First and foremost, let us be spiritually renewed this season by deepening our prayer life through participation in Sunday Mass, going to Confession, reading Sacred Scripture, reciting the Holy Rosary and Stations of the Cross, along with other personal devotions.

Fasting, an act of self-discipline and sacrifice, reminds us of our dependence on God and our need to turn away from worldly distractions. By giving up certain comforts or luxuries, we create space for God’s presence in our lives and grow in our ability to resist temptation. Consider how fasting can bring you closer to God and help you focus on what truly matters.

Almsgiving, the practice of charity and generosity, reflects our commitment to love and serve others as Jesus taught us. During Lent, let us be mindful of those in need and find ways to share our blessings, whether through acts of kindness, volunteering, or supporting charitable causes.

As we journey together through this holy season, may we support one another in our efforts to grow in the image likeness of Jesus Christ. Let us prepare worthily and well to celebrate once again his resurrection from the dead. May our Lenten journey be a grace-filled time of transformation, allowing God to renew our hearts and lead us closer to salvation.

In Christ,

Fr. Freitag
