Parish Life

Dear Parish Family,

February can feel like such a slow month—at least for me. But then, towards the end, it always surprises me how much shorter it is compared to the others, even though my monthly task list remains just as long. Many things are happening or being prepared within our Parish Family:

  • – Confirmations are about to be celebrated:
      • – Our Lady of Fatima: February 23rd, 9 AM Mass with Bishop Schuster
      • – St. Anne: February 24th, 7 PM Mass with Archbishop Etienne
  • – We are preparing for the Lent season to start next month.
  • – Sacred Heart of Jesus and St. Anne have just received a half-year finance report. If you missed it, you can find it here.
  • – Our Lady of Fatima will have a presentation on their current finances on the first weekend of March.
  • – Our spotlight this week highlights the facilities at two of our church locations.

Amidst all this busyness, I like to remember a quote from C. S. Lewis:

“There is no excess of goodness. You cannot go too far in the right direction.”

Maybe the month is too short, and our to-do lists are too long, but you can never go too far in the right direction. Even if you don’t go far this month, it’s the direction that matters.

God bless,

Barbara Bumbarger

Facility Spotlight

Dear Parishioners,

I’m enjoying meeting everyone at Sacred Heart of Jesus and St Anne Parishes and looking forward to meeting more of you in the coming months.

Mark, Director of Operations Sacred Heart of Jesus & St. Anne

The church doors and the replacement keycard system at St. Anne are almost complete. The system is active but requires some further adjustments. It will provide added security and convenience by utilizing codes and the ability to automatically unlock and lock doors at scheduled times.

Heating and thermostat upgrades at St. Anne are underway. The church and part of the office spaces are completed with noticeable improvements.

Minor upgrades and repairs at St. Anne School include:

  • – Main door closing mechanism repaired/strengthened
  • – Additional outlets and circuits added to the teachers’ lounge
  • – Updates to the fire security contact list
  • – The thermostat and control system in Banchero Hall at St. Anne School have been repaired and are functioning.

The sanctuary heater at Sacred Heart of Jesus has been more reliable, but further testing is still needed.

Thank you to all the volunteers at both Sacred Heart and St. Anne for all you do!
