Sacramental Preparation

For Adults

Thinking about becoming Catholic? Do you, or someone you know, have questions about Catholicism, or want to take the steps to become Catholic? We are beginning our annual sessions that help non-Catholics find answers about Catholicism and that assist them in becoming Catholic.

Sessions will be held on Thursday evenings from 6:30 to 8:30, starting on September 18. The first session will be held at St. Anne. Join us if you have questions or would like to learn more about the process! Fill out this Becoming Catholic Interest Form and one of our staff will be in touch with you.

For Children

First Reconciliation and First Communion typically happen in second grade. Confirmation is happening for children in seventh and eighth grade. This year, Jessica Harris is coordinating the Sacramental preparation for 1st Reconciliation/1st Communion for all parishes, and Susan Burdett is coordinating Confirmation for all parishes. If your child falls in one of these age ranges, registrations will be available the weekend of August 30/September 1. There are two opportunities for parents to learn about the preparation programs, dates, and expectations, and to register in-person, if you wish.

Monday, September 8, at 7 PM,

Our Lady of Fatima Parish Center

OR

Wednesday, September 10, at 7 PM,

St. Anne Narthex

Parents who have a child in either Sacramental age group are highly encouraged to attend one of these sessions. For questions, contact Jessica Harris at Jharris@nwseattlecatholic.org.

Farewell for Fr. Bill Cleary

Fr. Ramirez from Cross Catholic Outreach

This weekend, August 23rd and 24th, an Outreach Priest, Fr. Ramirez, will be visiting St. Anne and Our Lady of Fatima. More than ever, poor families in developing countries are relying on Catholic missions for assistance with food, water, shelter, medical care and spiritual nourishment. That’s why the work of Cross Catholic Outreach is so important. It supplies those urgent needs.

Fr. Ramirez will share stories about the amazing work Catholic missions are accomplishing as they carry out the Catholic Social Teaching of providing a preferential option for the poor and vulnerable. It’s an inspiring message every Catholic should hear.

Right now, our world desperately needs the radical compassion Christ lived out. When we help poor families, we show the watching world that our Lord’s love remains as powerful and transformative as ever before. Annual Catholic Appeal

We have made tremendous strides since our last update! A heartfelt thank you to everyone in our parish family who has contributed so far. Your generosity supports ministries across Western Washington and helps fund vital rebate projects within our parishes. It is not too late to give if you haven’t already. Please see the links below.

Our Lady of Fatima has met its financial goal and its participation goal, with 31% participation (the goal was 30%)! At this point, any additional contributions will return to the parish to assist with boiler repairs. Learn more about the ACA at Our Lady of Fatima.

Sacred Heart of Jesus has reached its financial goal but currently has 17% participation, while our goal for the year is 20%. It’s not too late to participate—rebate funds will support the installation of altar railings. Learn more about the ACA at Sacred Heart of Jesus.

St. Anne has reached 31% of our 38% participation goal! We are still working toward our financial goal as well, having reached 82% of the required amount. If you haven’t yet participated, please prayerfully consider supporting this important cause. Learn more about the ACA at St. Anne.
