5th Sunday in Ordinary Time

Dear Parish Family,

Do you love the “cold season”?

For me, the anticipation is always somewhat limited, knowing that it will be quite cold and gray for a long time before the first rays of sunshine lure us outside again. Nevertheless, I am always fascinated anew when white flakes manage to fall from the sky to us in Seattle and transform the world into a winter landscape. Even at my age, I still feel like a child!

This week, despite the cold, I’m feeling very enthusiastic and somehow warmed by how “open-hearted” you, as members of our parish family, have reacted to the call to nominate possible candidates for our Parish Family Advisory Counsil (PFAC). I am delighted at how we, as a parish family, are slowly coming together and say THANK YOU for all of you actively joining this journey of the Partners in the Gospel. In everything, I wish us “warming” and heart-touching encounters and experiences.

Fr. Thomas Quinn, Pastor of Our Lady of Fatima Parish from February 1987 through June 2001, died in Ireland on Saturday, January 18, 2025.

PREPARES is a volunteer-run program offering meaningful, local, and unconditional support to mothers, fathers, and families as they nurture their children through pregnancy and early childhood.

• – Services are available for families from pregnancy to a child’s fifth birthday.
