September 25 ~ 26th Sunday in ordinary Time
Saturday | September 24, 2016 | 16:00 PM
+ During this Year of Mercy, may we open ourselves up to your mercy and allow Jesus to come toward us by approaching him in the confessional. Holy Spirit of hope, we pray.
+ For the poor, the homeless, the sick, victims of violence and those who are suffering: that you will rescue and comfort them, especially through our own works of charity. Holy Spirit of hope, we pray.
+ May we not be like the rich man in today's Gospel who thought only of his own welfare. Give us the strength and courage to be your love, patience, gentleness, faith and justice in the world. Holy Spirit of hope, we pray.
+ Help us to understand anew that because we love you, we cannot ignore the needs of our neighbors without suffering the degradation of our own souls. Holy Spirit of hope, we pray.
+ For those affected by the violent shooting in Burlington: for those who died, their families and loved ones; for the perpetrator; for the first responders; and for the community. Give them the grace to deal with this tragedy in ways that bring healing, wholeness and justice. Holy Spirit of hope, we pray.
+ For all those who are sick especially Betty Bertoldi; Frances Covey; Chris Hurley; Joan Lord; Mike Finn; Fred Kilmer; Keitha Bradley; Max Zamberlin; and Rufus Moore. Also, we pray for those who have died, including Bill Cheshier; Penny Macomber; Kevin Maher; Gene Meyers; and Esther Purnell. Holy Spirit of hope, we pray.
+ In thankfulness for all that is written in our Parish Book of Thanksgiving. We pray also for the intentions written in the Parish Book of Intercessions and those we hold in the silence of our hearts. Holy Spirit of hope, we pray.
The Petitions offered at Saturday vigil and Sunday Masses are written by St. Anne parishioners who meet to consider the needs of our community, our church and our world in light of the scriptures. If you would like to participate in this ministry, you are already invited: No experience or special knowledge is needed, just a heartfelt desire to pray with our community. For questions, or to participate, please call Carol Ford at 206-281-5920.
