October 7 ~ Twenty-seventh Sunday in Ordinary Time

+ May the Church help to heal those who were victims of clergy abuse and take strong steps so that this will not happen again.  Lord, who leads us to life, we pray.

+ For those who hold public office: may they imitate your goodness in securing justice and the rights of all the oppressed.  Lord, who leads us to life, we pray.

+ Especially in these turbulent times, help us to remember that in your eyes, both male and female are of the same nature and possess equal dignity, that both are worthy and are to be equally respected; both are the embodiment of your Spirit.  Lord, who leads us to life, we pray.

+ We give thanks for your blessings on our parish community as we celebrate this blessed harvest season through food, games and activities, but most of all through our companionship with each other.  Lord, who leads us to life, we pray.

+ For the grace to be childlike in our relationship with you.  Lord, who leads us to life, we pray.

+ For all those who are sick including Chari Kinney; Joseph Gentile, father of Liz McKay; Laine Tyerman; Mike Finn; Carol Vizzare; Father Dick Basso; Kathi Ellsworth, and Norm Ellsworth.  We also pray for all those who have died, including Isabelle Collora, mother of Charlie Collora; and Richard St. Hillaire, brother of Ruth St. Hillaire.   Lord, who leads us to life, we pray.

+ In thankfulness for all that is written in our Parish Book of Thanksgiving.  We pray also for the intentions written in the Parish Book of Intercessions and those we hold in the silence of our hearts.  Lord, who leads us to life, we pray.

The Petitions offered at Saturday vigil and Sunday Masses are written by  St. Anne parishioners who meet to consider the needs of our community, our church and our world in light of the scriptures.  If you would like to participate in this ministry, you are already invited:  No experience or special knowledge is needed, just a heartfelt desire to pray with our community.  For questions, or to participate, please call Carol Ford at 206-281-5920.
