October 28 ~ 30th Sunday in Ordinary Time

+ Through the Church's announcement of the Gospel, may your word increase love in all of us.  Lord, protector of simple hearts, we pray.

+ That our participation in World Mission Day may renew within us and all Christian communities the joy of the Gospel and our responsibility to announce it.  Lord, protector of simple hearts, we pray.

+May civil leaders in all nations use their authority to protect and provide for the poor, the marginalized and the oppressed.  Lord, protector of simple hearts, we pray.

+ For those killed and wounded in this weekend’s shooting in the Pittsburgh synagogue; and for the wisdom and will to resolve our nation’s epidemic of gun violence.  Lord, protector of simple hearts, we pray.

+ As you did for the blind man in today's Gospel, help us to truly see with our hearts so that we, too, can leap up and follow you in faith.  Lord, protector of simple hearts, we pray.

+ For all those who are sick including Christine Ball; Chari Kinney; Joseph Gentile, father of Liz McKay; Vincent Slatt, father of Mary Davis; Laine Tyerman; Mike Finn; Carol Vizzare; Sylvia Sanders, mother of Amy Cunningham; and Kathi Ellsworth.  We also pray for all those who have died, including Norm Ellsworth; Lorraine Crist; and Father Dick Basso.  Lord, protector of simple hearts, we pray.

+ In thankfulness for all that is written in our Parish Book of Thanksgiving.  We pray also for the intentions written in the Parish Book of Intercessions and those we hold in the silence of our hearts.  Lord, protector of simple hearts, we pray.

The Petitions offered at Saturday vigil and Sunday Masses are written by  St. Anne parishioners who meet to consider the needs of our community, our church and our world in light of the scriptures.  If you would like to participate in this ministry, you are already invited:  No experience or special knowledge is needed, just a heartfelt desire to pray with our community.  For questions, or to participate, please call Carol Ford at 206-281-5920.
