October 23 ~ Thirtieth Sunday in Ordinary Time

+ May your word increase love through the Church's announcement of the Gospel.  Lord, our refuge and joy, we pray.

+ May the sun of your love burn away the fog so that we can see each other clearly beyond labels, accents, gender and skin color.  May it melt our selfishness so that we can see all people as our neighbors.  Lord, our refuge and joy, we pray.

+ For those in the world facing difficult decisions: may you stand by them and enlighten their minds and hearts.  Lord, our refuge and joy, we pray.

+ We pray for our nation during this difficult election season.  Help us all to remember in our hearts that love is stronger than hate and to act on that love in our lives and in our dealings with one another.  Lord, our refuge and joy, we pray.

+ Though we are unworthy, we rest in the arms of your impartial and merciful love.  Lord, our refuge and joy, we pray.

+ For the grace to be humble and to always seek your mercy.  Lord, our refuge and joy, we pray.

+ For all those who are sick especially Betty Bertoldi; Chris Hurley; Mike Finn; Taylor Thole (toe-lee); Kathleen Todd; and Rufus Moore.   We pray for those who have died, including Larry McNamee.  Lord, our refuge and joy, we pray.

+ In thankfulness for all that is written in our Parish Book of Thanksgiving.  We pray also for the intentions written in the Parish Book of Intercessions and those we hold in the silence of our hearts.  Lord, our refuge and joy, we pray.

The Petitions offered at Saturday vigil and Sunday Masses are written by  St. Anne parishioners who meet to consider the needs of our community, our church and our world in light of the scriptures.  If you would like to participate in this ministry, you are already invited:  No experience or special knowledge is needed, just a heartfelt desire to pray with our community.  For questions, or to participate, please call Carol Ford at 206-281-5920.
