October 18 ~ Twenty-ninth Sunday in Ordinary Time

+ That with a missionary spirit the Christian communities may announce the Gospel to those who are still awaiting it.  Jesus, our strength, we pray.

+ We ask that you provide special protection for all families, particularly those who face hardships as they move in search of a better life.  Show mercy to those who travel in danger, and lead them to a place of safety and peace.  Comfort those who are alone and afraid because their families have been torn apart by violence and injustice.  Jesus, our strength, we pray.

+ Help us to truly understand that Jesus is what you look like when you became human and shared in human suffering and weakness.  Deepen our hearts to fully understand from his life that we are to love and serve others in your name, as he did.  Jesus, our strength, we pray.

+ May we draw near with confidence to your throne of grace to receive mercy and to find grace to help in time of need.  Jesus, our strength, we pray.

+ For the grace this week to give ourselves over to you in moments of temptation and weakness.  Jesus, our strength, we pray.

+ For all those who are sick especially Mike Finn, Frances Keenan, Charlene Collora, Karen & Bill Cook, parents of Regan Hurley; and Kathy Milia, niece of Marty Hillary.  Also, we pray for those who have died including Robert Kokesh, father of Vanessa Gallant, Rosemary Foong, mother of Corrina Seck, and Dale Dankers. Jesus, our strength, we pray.

+ In thankfulness for all that is written in our Parish Book of Thanksgiving.  We pray also for the intentions written in the Parish Book of Intercessions and those we hold in the silence of our hearts.  Jesus, our strength, we pray.
