October 14 ~ Twenty-eighth Sunday in Ordinary Time

+ May the Church go forth toward those who are wounded and in need of an attentive ear, healing and love.  Holy Spirit who fills us with love, we pray.

+ For refugees and displaced persons: that they will be kept safe and be given a new home.  Holy Spirit who fills us with love, we pray.

+ For those affected by Hurricane Michael, the typhoon and tsunami in Indonesia, and other catastrophic events: for those who have died, those injured, and those who lost their homes.  Bring them consolation, Lord, and open our hearts to assist in their relief.  Holy Spirit who fills us with love, we pray.

+ Help us to realize that wealth, power and merit create false security, and that our true security rests only in you.  May we so live our lives.  Holy Spirit who fills us with love, we pray.

+ We ask your blessings on the poor, the hungry, on those who are dispossessed and whose rights and dignity have been ignored.  Help us to respond to their needs in your name.  Holy Spirit who fills us with love, we pray.

+ For all those who are sick including Chari Kinney; Joseph Gentile, father of Liz McKay; Lorraine Crist; Laine Tyerman; Mike Finn; Carol Vizzare; Kathi Ellsworth, and Norm Ellsworth.  We also pray for all those who have died, including Father Dick Basso.  Holy Spirit who fills us with love, we pray.

+ In thankfulness for all that is written in our Parish Book of Thanksgiving.  We pray also for the intentions written in the Parish Book of Intercessions and those we hold in the silence of our hearts.  Holy Spirit who fills us with love, we pray.

The Petitions offered at Saturday vigil and Sunday Masses are written by  St. Anne parishioners who meet to consider the needs of our community, our church and our world in light of the scriptures.  If you would like to participate in this ministry, you are already invited:  No experience or special knowledge is needed, just a heartfelt desire to pray with our community.  For questions, or to participate, please call Carol Ford at 206-281-5920.
