November 30 First Sunday of Advent

PRAYERS OF THE FAITHFUL

November 30, First Sunday of Advent

+ May Advent for the Church be a faith-filled journey toward the horizon of hope.  Jesus, who comes as promised, we pray.

+ Help us to trust in your plan for peace for all humanity in the grim reality of war, terrorism, hatred and unrestrained violence.  Jesus, who comes as promised, we pray.

+ For the people of Ferguson, Missouri, and for communities throughout our country: may we work for justice through peaceful interventions, so as to transform our judicial system, our economic system, and our political system, and be truly committed to liberty and justice for all.  God, giver of gladness of heart, we pray.

+ For us all:  Help us to share in your friendship now - in the present moment - and until the end of time.  Jesus, who comes as promised, we pray.

+ We ask that your loving-kindness - which is your essence O Lord - grow in us every day as we wait in hope.  Jesus, who comes as promised, we pray.

+ For the grace this week to intensify our preparation for your coming, O Lord.  Jesus, who comes as promised, we pray.

+ For all those who are sick sick especially Charlene Collora (ko-lor'-a); and Maria Cinquina (chin-queen-a).   Also, we pray for those who have died including Pat O’Keefe, mother of Kate Youngblood, Grant Denning, nephew of Joe & Della Maricich, and Father John Horan (hor'-an).   Jesus, who comes as promised, we pray.

+ In thankfulness for all that is written in our new Parish Book of Thanksgiving.  We pray also for the intentions written in the Parish Book of Intercessions and those we hold in the silence of our hearts.  Jesus, who comes as promised, we pray.
