November 26 ~ Feast of Christ the King

+ May the Church always be a place of mercy freely given, where everyone is encouraged to live as Jesus lived.  Lord Jesus, merciful shepherd, we pray.

+ That the culture of life proclaimed by Christ the King will reign in every human heart, especially in world leaders.  Lord Jesus, merciful shepherd, we pray.

+ Especially in this age of greed and disrespect of others, may we remember you calling us to acts of compassion and mercy toward all those in need.  Lord Jesus, merciful shepherd, we pray.

+ For the hundreds who died in the attack on the mosque in Egypt, and for all those who grieve their loss.  Show us, loving God, the path to peace, justice and respect for all.  Lord Jesus, merciful shepherd, we pray.

+ We ask for your blessing and comfort for all those who are homeless, including those sleeping under our donated blankets this winter.  Lord Jesus, merciful shepherd, we pray.

+ We give you thanks for the gift to our community of all the pictures and memories that have graced our Altar of Remembrance this month.  May the souls of our loved ones rest in peace.  Lord Jesus, merciful shepherd, we pray.

+ For all those who are sick, especially Veronica Maldonado; Bob VanMeter; and Mary Ann Kramer, mother of Paul Kramer.  We pray also for those who have died, including Janice Purnell, mother of Chuck Purnell; Richard Daly, father of Suzanne Rosenthal; Leona Neuburger, grandmother of Jim Neuberger; Nancy Hoffman, mother of Carolyn Carlesimo; and Katie Fleming, mother of Jannie Curtain.  Lord Jesus, merciful shepherd, we pray.

+ In thankfulness for all that is written in our Parish Book of Thanksgiving.  We pray also for the intentions written in the Parish Book of Intercessions and those we hold in the silence of our hearts.  Lord Jesus, merciful shepherd, we pray.

The Petitions offered at Saturday vigil and Sunday Masses are written by  St. Anne parishioners who meet to consider the needs of our community, our church and our world in light of the scriptures.  If you would like to participate in this ministry, you are already invited:  No experience or special knowledge is needed, just a heartfelt desire to pray with our community.  For questions, or to participate, please call Carol Ford at 206-281-5920.
