May 13 ~ Solemnity of the Ascension of the Lord

+ For the Church:  that we your people will live with an ardent hope for heaven.  Jesus, leading us to heaven, we pray.

+ May the authority of heaven guide the actions of those who govern on earth.  Jesus, leading us to heaven, we pray.

+ Come find us, just where we are, and through your mercy and grace, help us to follow you.  Send us out into the world to proclaim your love to all.  Jesus, leading us to heaven, we pray.

+ We remember today all who struggle with mental illness.  We pray that you will bring light in the darkness, courage instead of fear, and hope instead of despair.  Jesus, leading us to heaven, we pray.

+ May those who are confirmed this week keep growing in their faith and be filled with the fire of your love.  Jesus, leading us to heaven, we pray.

+ Through the grace of the Ascension, may we be blessed to keep our minds and hearts fixed on the things of heaven.  Jesus, leading us to heaven, we pray.

+ For all those who are sick including Luke Cheseldon, son of Bryan and Mary Lou Cheseldon; Steve Nordeck, brother of Vicki Panko; John Blasi, father of Jeanne Riley; Jill Ragsdale; Chari Kinney; Frances Covey; and Cheryl Potakos.  We also pray for those who have died including Father Michael Wagner; Charlene Mitchell, sister of Kathi Ellsworth; Stella Nissen; and David Marriott. Jesus, leading us to heaven, we pray.

+ In thankfulness for all that is written in our Parish Book of Thanksgiving.  We pray also for the intentions written in the Parish Book of Intercessions and those we hold in the silence of our hearts.  Jesus, leading us to heaven, we pray.

The Petitions offered at Saturday vigil and Sunday Masses are written by  St. Anne parishioners who meet to consider the needs of our community, our church and our world in light of the scriptures.  If you would like to participate in this ministry, you are already invited:  No experience or special knowledge is needed, just a heartfelt desire to pray with our community.  For questions, or to participate, please call Carol Ford at 206-281-5920.
