July 30 ~ Seventeenth Sunday in Ordinary Time

+ May the Church stand as a living witness to truth and freedom, to peace and justice.  Holy Spirit, giver of wisdom, we pray.

+ Help us to banish violence from our midst, and defend us against every attack.  Holy Spirit, giver of wisdom, we pray.

+ We pray for the state of our country:  that the justice, truth and compassion of your Spirit will prevail.  Holy Spirit, giver of wisdom, we pray.

+ We pray for all the children living in Mary's Place shelters for whom we are collecting school supplies and backpacks.  May they know there are people who care for them and want them to succeed in their studies.  Holy Spirit, giver of wisdom, we pray.

+ We ask your blessings on our shared meeting with Queen Anne Lutheran Church this weekend as we explore our related history and our relationship with each other now.  Holy Spirit, giver of wisdom, we pray.

+ For the grace to be just and kind to all we meet.  Holy Spirit, giver of wisdom, we pray.

+ For all those who are sick especially baby Layla Hough and Charlie Maddalena.  Also, we pray for those who have died.  Holy Spirit, giver of wisdom, we pray.

+ In thankfulness for all that is written in our Parish Book of Thanksgiving.  We pray also for the intentions written in the Parish Book of Intercessions and those we hold in the silence of our hearts.  Holy Spirit, giver of wisdom, we pray.

The Petitions offered at Saturday vigil and Sunday Masses are written by  St. Anne parishioners who meet to consider the needs of our community, our church and our world in light of the scriptures.  If you would like to participate in this ministry, you are already invited:  No experience or special knowledge is needed, just a heartfelt desire to pray with our community.  For questions, or to participate, please call Carol Ford at
