July 23 ~ Sixteenth Sunday in Ordinary Time

+ May the shepherds of the Church proclaim Christ, admonishing and teaching with all wisdom.  Lord, whose love is strong for us, we pray.

+ We pray for all people who are in positions of power in the world: may their power be tempered with a strong sense of justice, and with kindness and compassion for all.  Lord, whose love is strong for us, we pray.

+ That our brothers and sisters who have strayed from the faith may, through our prayer and witness to the Gospel, rediscover your merciful closeness and the beauty of the Christian life.  Lord, whose love is strong for us, we pray.

+ In thanksgiving that your Spirit breathes within us and intercedes for us in our weakness.  Lord, whose love is strong for us, we pray.

+ Give us wisdom to understand why evil exists in this world, and the grace to stand up to it.  Lord, whose love is strong for us, we pray.

+ For the grace to be just and kind to all we meet.  Lord, whose love is strong for us, we pray.

+ For all those who are sick especially Betty Bertoldi, Margaret Angelos, Charlie Maddalena and baby Layla Hough (huff).  Also, we pray for those who have died, including Betty Negro, Phil McCluskey, and Mary Coughlin, sister of Colleen Zamberlin.   Lord, whose love is strong for us, we pray.

+ In thankfulness for all that is written in our Parish Book of Thanksgiving.  We pray also for the intentions written in the Parish Book of Intercessions and those we hold in the silence of our hearts.  Lord, whose love is strong for us, we pray.

The Petitions offered at Saturday vigil and Sunday Masses are written by  St. Anne parishioners who meet to consider the needs of our community, our church and our world in light of the scriptures.  If you would like to participate in this ministry, you are already invited:  No experience or special knowledge is needed, just a heartfelt desire to pray with our community.  For questions, or to participate, please call Carol Ford at
