January 7, 2018 ~ Feast of the Epiphany of the Lord

+ May the Church be like the star of Epiphany, drawing the world to worship Jesus Christ.  Lord of shining radiance, we pray.

+ During this National Migration Week, we pray for all people who are migrating, particularly those who are forced from their homes or separated from their families because of violence and persecution.  Protect and keep them safe.  Lord of shining radiance, we pray.

+ For the strength of mind and heart for leaders and each of us to defend freedoms when they are threatened.  Lord of shining radiance, we pray.

+ May we in our nation, during this trying and dark time, experience the radiance of your love anew, a radiance that is more powerful than the darkness.  Give us the courage to be part of your light.  Lord of shining radiance, we pray.

+ We ask that you help us to approach this new year with hope in our hearts, knowing that you are at work in the world.  Lord of shining radiance, we pray.

+ For the grace to follow the Way who is Christ.  Lord of shining radiance, we pray.

+ For all those who are sick especially Paxton Alston, cousin of Amy Cunningham; and Mary Ann Kramer, mother of Paul Kramer.  We pray also for those who have died.  Lord of shining radiance, we pray.

+ In thankfulness for all that is written in our Parish Book of Thanksgiving.  We pray also for the intentions written in the Parish Book of Intercessions and those we hold in the silence of our hearts.  Lord of shining radiance, we pray.

The Petitions offered at Saturday vigil and Sunday Masses are written by  St. Anne parishioners who meet to consider the needs of our community, our church and our world in light of the scriptures.  If you would like to participate in this ministry, you are already invited:  No experience or special knowledge is needed, just a heartfelt desire to pray with our community.  For questions, or to participate, please call Carol Ford at 206-281-5920.
