January 13, 2019 The Baptism of the Lord

+ For the Church, that you will bless your people and make them a light for the nations of the world.  Holy Spirit, giver of life, we pray.

+ For all those to be baptized this year including at the Easter Vigil: may the sacrament bring them peace and joy as they are plunged into love to become one in Christ Jesus.  Holy Spirit, giver of life, we pray.

+ We continue to pray for the well-being of our nation during these challenging times.  May we be willing instruments in helping to fulfill your will for our national life.  Holy Spirit, giver of life, we pray.

+ For our public officials: that they will strive to work for fair education, adequate housing and equal opportunities for employment for all.  Holy Spirit, giver of life, we pray.

+ May we be people of gratitude because by grace you love us, even though we have not earned it or deserved it.  Holy Spirit, giver of life, we pray.

+ For the grace to live our baptismal promises with deeper fervor and love.  Holy Spirit, giver of life, we pray.

+ For all those who are sick, including Joseph Gentile; Carol Vizzare; Sylvia Sanders; Barbara Lowney; Angela Downs; and Chris Hurley.  We also pray for those who have died, including Bernarda Gaviria - grandmother of Adriana Vélez.  Holy Spirit, giver of life, we pray.

+ In thankfulness for all that is written in our Parish Book of Thanksgiving.  We pray also for the intentions written in the Parish Book of Intercessions and those we hold in the silence of our hearts.  Holy Spirit, giver of life, we pray.

The Petitions offered at Saturday vigil and Sunday Masses are written by  St. Anne parishioners who meet to consider the needs of our community, our church and our world in light of the scriptures.  If you would like to participate in this ministry, you are already invited:  No experience or special knowledge is needed, just a heartfelt desire to pray with our community.  For questions, or to participate, please call Carol Ford at 206-281-5920.
