January 1, 2020 ~ Solemnity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of God

+ That Mary, Mother of the Church, will guide and protect the whole church with her motherly love.  O Morning Star, come to us, we pray.

+ That all the world may know Mary's tender care, and in this new year bring everlasting harmony and peace to all people.  O Morning Star, come to us, we pray.

+ May all those from diverse religious traditions and all people of goodwill work together for justice and peace in the world.  O Morning Star, come to us, we pray.

+ For all mothers, may they love their children and teach them the ways of peace.  O Morning Star, come to us, we pray.

+ May we - like Mary - become bearers of joy as we allow your love to become more and more alive in our lives.  O Morning Star, come to us, we pray.

+ For our community: in thankfulness for the blessings received as we seek the promise of the new year that is before us.  O Morning Star, come to us, we pray.

+ We pray for all those who are sick and for those who have died.  Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death.  O Morning Star, come to us, we pray.

+ For the prayers we hold in the silence of our hearts.  O Morning Star, come to us, we pray.

The Petitions offered at Saturday vigil and Sunday Masses are written by  St. Anne parishioners who meet to consider the needs of our community, our church and our world in light of the scriptures.  If you would like to participate in this ministry, you are already invited:  No experience or special knowledge is needed, just a heartfelt desire to pray with our community.  For questions, or to participate, please call Carol Ford at 206-281-5920.
