February 18 ~ First Sunday of Lent

+ During this season of Lent, may the Church bear witness to those who live in material, moral, and spiritual destitution, and bring the Gospel message of your love.  Lord of love and truth, we pray.

+ Once again we pray for those killed or affected by gun violence.  Holy Spirit, give us the courage and wisdom to meet this problem in our country.  Lord of love and truth, we pray.

+ As the rainbow in the clouds was a sign to Noah of your covenant of faithfulness, may we live today with the same deep assurance of your mercy and love.  Lord of love and truth, we pray.

+ Help us to remember that Lent is our chance to make our own journey again through the desert - to reconnect with you, with each other and even with our own selves.  Lord of love and truth, we pray.

+ Jesus, send your Spirit with our parish delegates as they meet with state legislators this week.  May they bring your gospel to life and inspire justice, especially for the poor and the voiceless.  Lord of love and truth, we pray.

+ For the grace to face the temptations of life by relying on your love in our lives.  Lord of love and truth, we pray.

For all those who are sick, especially Father Jim Lee, and Bun Heng, father of Julie Shaw.  Also we pray for those who have died including Father Mark Stehly;  Brian Sweeney, father of Briana Jones; and Ralph Ryan.  Lord of love and truth, we pray.

+ In thankfulness for all that is written in our Parish Book of Thanksgiving.  We pray also for the intentions written in the Parish Book of Intercessions and those we hold in the silence of our hearts.  Lord of love and truth, we pray.

The Petitions offered at Saturday vigil and Sunday Masses are written by  St. Anne parishioners who meet to consider the needs of our community, our church and our world in light of the scriptures.  If you would like to participate in this ministry, you are already invited:  No experience or special knowledge is needed, just a heartfelt desire to pray with our community.  For questions, or to participate, please call Carol Ford at 206-281-5920.
