December 25 ~ The Nativity of the Lord

+ For the Church:  that the Holy Father and the bishops live their lives in such a way as to illustrate the saving event of the Incarnation to everyone throughout the world.  Son of God who comes to us, we pray.

+ For the world:  Let the heavens be glad, let the earth rejoice, and let all peoples see your glory.  Son of God who comes to us, we pray.

+ On this day of joy, we pray for the well-being of our nation.  Work in each of us for the safekeeping of our land.  Son of God who comes to us, we pray.

+ In gratitude:  that you sent your son Jesus to show us how we are to be your hands and your heart in the world.  Son of God who comes to us, we pray.

+ We pray for all those who are homeless, alone, hungry or scared this day.  Enflame our hearts to go out and serve all in your name.  Son of God who comes to us, we pray.

+ May the promise of your presence with us be in all that we do, and may we continue to find joy in the hope that comes with this Holy Season.  Son of God who comes to us, we pray.

+ For all those who are sick and for those who have died.  Son of God who comes to us, we pray.

+ For the prayers we hold in the silence of our hearts.  Son of God who comes to us, we pray.

The Petitions offered at Saturday vigil and Sunday Masses are written by  St. Anne parishioners who meet to consider the needs of our community, our church and our world in light of the scriptures.  If you would like to participate in this ministry, you are already invited:  No experience or special knowledge is needed, just a heartfelt desire to pray with our community.  For questions, or to participate, please call Carol Ford at 206-281-5920.
