December 25 ~ The Nativity of the Lord

+ For the holy father and the bishops who assist him:  may their lives, teachings, preaching and pastoral care proclaim the saving event of the Incarnation to all.  Prince of peace, we pray.

+ In these difficult and disturbing times in our world, help us truly to know that you are the light of all peoples, that the light shines in the darkness before us, and that darkness cannot overcome it.  Prince of peace, we pray.

+ For the world:  let the heavens be glad, let the earth rejoice and let all people see your glory.  Prince of peace, we pray.

+ We pray for all those who are homeless, alone, hungry, or scared this day.  Enflame our hearts to go and serve all in your name.  Prince of peace, we pray.

+ May we, too - like Mary - become bearers of joy as we allow your love to become more and more alive in our lives.  Prince of peace, we pray.

+ With your help, may the promise of your presence with us be in all that we do, and may we continue to find joy in the hope that comes with this Holy Season.  Prince of peace, we pray.

+ For all those who are sick and for those who have died.  Prince of peace, we pray.

+ For the prayers we hold in the silence of our hearts.  Prince of peace, we pray.

The Petitions offered at Saturday vigil and Sunday Masses are written by  St. Anne parishioners who meet to consider the needs of our community, our church and our world in light of the scriptures.  If you would like to participate in this ministry, you are already invited:  No experience or special knowledge is needed, just a heartfelt desire to pray with our community.  For questions, or to participate, please call Carol Ford at 206-281-5920.
