December 23 ~ Fourth Sunday in Advent

+ We pray for the Church, that your Holy Spirit may continue to move through it, cleansing it and healing it.  Jesus, fulfillment of prophecies, we pray.

+ For the world: In faith, we raise our voices in prayer for peace and harmony among all peoples and nations.  Jesus, fulfillment of prophecies, we pray.

+ In these very difficult and disturbing times in our nation and in our world, help us to truly know that your Son is the light that shines in the darkness and that the darkness cannot overcome it.  Jesus, fulfillment of prophecies, we pray.

+ For children and young people: may they devote their lives to seeking your face.  Jesus, fulfillment of prophecies, we pray.

+ As Jesus showed us, help us to follow him and live according to your will.  May we be your peace on earth and serve others.  Jesus, fulfillment of prophecies, we pray.

+ For the grace to welcome the presence of Jesus that comes to us through the motherhood of the Blessed Virgin Mary.  Jesus, fulfillment of prophecies, we pray.

+ For all those who are sick, including Joseph Gentile; Carol Vizzare; Sylvia Sanders; Barbara Lowney; Angela Downs; and Chris Hurley.  We also pray for those who have died, including Liane [Lane] Tyerman.   Jesus, fulfillment of prophecies, we pray.

+ In thankfulness for all that is written in our Parish Book of Thanksgiving.  We pray also for the intentions written in the Parish Book of Intercessions and those we hold in the silence of our hearts.  Jesus, fulfillment of prophecies, we pray.

The Petitions offered at Saturday vigil and Sunday Masses are written by  St. Anne parishioners who meet to consider the needs of our community, our church and our world in light of the scriptures.  If you would like to participate in this ministry, you are already invited:  No experience or special knowledge is needed, just a heartfelt desire to pray with our community.  For questions, or to participate, please call Carol Ford at 206-281-5920.
