December 21 Fourth Sunday in Advent

December 21, Fourth Sunday of Advent

+ May the bishops of the Church, by grace of the apostleship they have received, draw forth from others a deeper faith.  God, who is ever faithful, we pray.

+ For the world:  May all commit themselves to the sincere search for true peace which will extinguish all arguments, for charity which overcomes hatred, and for pardon which disarms revenge.  God, who is ever faithful, we pray.

+ For the school children and teachers murdered in Pakistan, for their families; and for the perpetrators of such hatred and violence.  God, who is ever faithful, we pray.

+ For those who are isolated or lonely, that they will be consoled by the friendship of Jesus who strengthens us with his love.  God, who is ever faithful, we pray.

+ For the grace to welcome the presence of Jesus, and to follow the example of Mary and embrace without reserve your plan for our lives.  God, who is ever faithful, we pray.

+ For our Jewish sisters and brothers as they celebrate the festival of Hanukah: renew in them the joy and fervor of their faith in you. God, who is ever faithful, we pray.

+ For all those who are sick especially Charlene Collora; Maria Cinquina; and Jeff Sylvia, father of Shon Sylvia.   Also, we pray for those who have died including Betty Mae Dizmang, Rosie Moriarty, and Joel DeRuyck, brother of Sara DeRuyck. God, who is ever faithful, we pray.

+ In thankfulness for all that is written in our new Parish Book of Thanksgiving.  We pray also for the intentions written in the Parish Book of Intercessions and those we hold in the silence of our hearts.  God, who is ever faithful, we pray.
