December 2 ~ First Sunday of Advent

+ May this Advent be for the Church a faith-filled journey toward the horizon of hope.  Lord of justice, we pray.

+ For an end to warfare: may all weapons be dismantled to become instruments of peace.  Lord of justice, we pray.

+ Teach us to reach across all borders, whether fabricated or real, to join with our brothers and sisters who are seeking a better life.  Lord of justice, we pray.

+ In this season of promise, help us to rekindle in our hearts the hope that helps us to do what is right and just.  Lord of justice, we pray.

+ For those affected by the earthquakes in Alaska; for those suffering from the flooding in California, and for people around the world impacted by natural disasters; give them relief, shelter and safety.  Lord of justice, we pray.

+ For all those who are sick, including Christine Ball; Joseph Gentile; Mike Finn; Carol Vizzare; Sylvia Sanders; Barbara Lowney; Chari Kinney; Angela Downs; and Chris Hurley.  We also pray for those who have died, including Norm Ellsworth, Gertrude Bolster and former President George H.W. Bush.  Lord of justice, we pray.

+ In thankfulness for all that is written in our Parish Book of Thanksgiving.  We pray also for the intentions written in the Parish Book of Intercessions and those we hold in the silence of our hearts.  Lord of justice, we pray.

The Petitions offered at Saturday vigil and Sunday Masses are written by  St. Anne parishioners who meet to consider the needs of our community, our church and our world in light of the scriptures.  If you would like to participate in this ministry, you are already invited:  No experience or special knowledge is needed, just a heartfelt desire to pray with our community.  For questions, or to participate, please call Carol Ford at 206-281-5920.
