PRAYERS OF THE FAITHFUL

December 7, Second Sunday of Advent

 

+ May the birth of the Redeemer bring peace and hope to all people of goodwill.  Lord, comforter of people, we pray.

+ Grant that violence be overcome by the power of love, opposition give way to reconciliation, and the desire to oppress be transformed into the desire for forgiveness, justice and peace.  Lord, comforter of people, we pray.

+ May love within families increase ever more in knowledge of what is truly good and valuable.  Lord, comforter of people, we pray.

+ For you alone, our souls in silence wait.  Our hope is from you.  Lord, comforter of people, we pray.

+ In gratitude for your baptism with the Holy Spirit that changes our lives!  Lord, comforter of people, we pray.

+ For the grace this week to conduct ourselves in holiness and devotion.  Lord, comforter of people, we pray.

+ For all those who are sick especially Charlene Collora (ko-lor'-a); Maria Cinquina (chin-queen-a); and Jeff Sylvia, father of Shon Sylvia.   Also, we pray for those who have died including Carol Cooper, Father John Horan (hor'-an), and Joel DeRuyck (da-royk'), brother of Sara DeRuyck(da-royk')Lord, comforter of people, we pray.

 

In thankfulness for all that is written in our new Parish Book of Thanksgiving.  We pray also for the intentions written in the Parish Book of Intercessions and those we hold in the silence of our hearts.  Lord, comforter of people, we pray.
