August 28 ~ Twenty-second Sunday in Ordinary Time

+ For the renewal of the Church, with greater missionary outreach as its goal.  Lord, Savior of all, we pray.

+ We pray for all those affected by the devastating earthquake in Italy.  Give them the hope and strength they will need through these difficult days.  Lord, Savior of all, we pray.

+ Along with the poet Ann Weems, we "pray that stone hearts will turn to tenderheartedness and evil intentions will turn to mercifulness, and all the soldiers already deployed will be snatched out of harm's way, and the whole world will be astounded onto its knees."  Lord, Savior of all, we pray.

+ Give us the courage and humility to be servants of all, not only in our actions but in our hearts as well.  Lord, Savior of all, we pray.

+ As we begin a new intercessory prayer ministry here at St. Anne's to pray for our parish community, we ask for your blessings on all who participate with open hearts.  Lord, Savior of all, we pray.

+ For the grace this week to conduct ourselves in true humility, which leads us to be loved more than as giver of gifts.  Lord, Savior of all, we pray.

+ For all those who are sick especially Betty Bertoldi; Chris Hurley; Joan Lord; Mike Finn; Fred Kilmer; and Max Zamberlin.  Also, we pray for those who have died.  Lord, Savior of all, we pray.

+ In thankfulness for all that is written in our Parish Book of Thanksgiving.  We pray also for the intentions written in the Parish Book of Intercessions and those we hold in the silence of our hearts.  Lord, Savior of all, we pray.

The Petitions offered at Saturday vigil and Sunday Masses are written by  St. Anne parishioners who meet to consider the needs of our community, our church and our world in light of the scriptures.  If you would like to participate in this ministry, you are already invited:  No experience or special knowledge is needed, just a heartfelt desire to pray with our community.  For questions, or to participate, please call Carol Ford at 206-281-5920.
