August 27 ~ Twenty-First Sunday in Ordinary Time

+ May the Church act as mediator in problems affecting peace, social harmony, and human and civil rights.  Holy Spirit, giver of life, we pray.

+ Bring to all nations and peoples on earth your healing mercy to sustain the world in justice and peace.  Holy Spirit, giver of life, we pray.

+ We pray for all those working to bring justice and peace into the world.  May we remember you call us all to this work.  Holy Spirit, giver of life, we pray.

+ Help us to realize we cannot know you through our own understanding because you are inscrutable and mysterious, but we can come to know you through participating in the life of love.  Holy Spirit, giver of life, we pray.

+ We thank you for your Son, the Word made flesh who dwelt among us and who calls us friends.  Help us to find him in all others, and in ourselves as well.  Holy Spirit, giver of life, we pray.

+ For the grace to acknowledge Jesus as our Savior to those we meet.  Holy Spirit, giver of life, we pray.

+ For all those who are sick, including Marianne Jurich. Also, we pray for those who have died including Mary Shelley.   Holy Spirit, giver of life, we pray.

+ In thankfulness for all that is written in our Parish Book of Thanksgiving.  We pray also for the intentions written in the Parish Book of Inter-cessions and those we hold in the silence of our hearts.  Holy Spirit, giver of life, we pray.

The Petitions offered at Saturday vigil and Sunday Masses are written by  St. Anne parishioners who meet to consider the needs of our community, our church and our world in light of the scriptures.  If you would like to participate in this ministry, you are already invited:  No experience or special knowledge is needed, just a heartfelt desire to pray with our community.  For questions, or to participate, please call Carol Ford at 206-281-5920.
