August 14 ~ Twentieth Sunday in Ordinary Time

+ May the Church be a place of mercy freely given where everyone can feel welcomed, loved, forgiven and encouraged to live the good life of the Gospel.  Jesus, perfecter of faith, we pray.

+ That those who are leaders in all nations will imitate the goodness of the Lord, who secured justice and the rights of all the oppressed.  Jesus, perfecter of faith, we pray.

+ Give us courage to persevere in running the race that lies before us so that we will not grow weary and lose heart, and help us to do so for the sake of your joy.  Jesus, perfecter of faith, we pray.

+ Oh, Eternal Fire, ignite the fires of your passion in our hearts so that we can be instruments of your kingdom of love on earth.  Jesus, perfecter of faith, we pray.

+ We ask for your blessings on all those participating in the Obliteride bike ride this weekend to raise money for cancer research at Fred Hutchison Cancer Center.  May we be especially inspired by our own Adrianna Guttierez who is riding because she has chosen to personally do something about cancer.  Jesus, perfecter of faith, we pray.

+ For the grace to persevere in running the race of faith with our eyes fixed on Jesus.  Jesus, perfecter of faith, we pray.

+ For all those who are sick, especially Joan Lord; Mike Finn; and Chris Hurley.  Also, we pray for those who have died. Jesus, perfecter of faith, we pray.

In thankfulness for all that is written in our Parish Book of Thanksgiving.  We pray also for the intentions written in the Parish Book of Intercessions and those we hold in the silence of our hearts.  Jesus, perfecter of faith, we pray.

The Petitions offered at Saturday vigil and Sunday Masses are written by  St. Anne parishioners who meet to consider the needs of our community, our church and our world in light of the scriptures.  If you would like to participate in this ministry, you are already invited:  No experience or special knowledge is needed, just a heartfelt desire to pray with our community.  For questions, or to participate, please call Carol Ford at 206-281-5920.
