What
went on behind closed doors:
A construction retrospective
Recently, St. Anne’s completed a major
church renovation project, which included creating a new altar
and platform, removing the baldacchino and demolishing the
old altar platform. What went on behind closed doors? Here’s
a look at some of the major pieces of the action.

The baldacchino begins its retreat into history.

Going, going and almost gone.
The baldacchino is gone and demolition begins on the
old altar platform.
Goodbye to the old altar platform.

During a concrete workers’ strike, the site of
the old altar platform is temporarily
covered with plywood.
While construction was going on, we celebrated Mass in
Banchero Hall.

Work begins on the new altar platform.
Concrete has been poured, new marble is in place.
A worker puts the finishing touches on the new altar
platform.

The completed project: a beautiful new home for our Eucharistic
celebrations.
